Alleys offer an often overlooked view of a community. What can we see differently by walking the alleyways of Pullman?

This tour explores how alleys and the refuse that filled them shaped the City of Chicago. Alleys throughout the city fundamentally impacted the structural and architectural history of Chicago as well as the public health of its inhabitants.

From the beginning of Pullman, alleys were an important aspect of the community. By walking the alleys we can view Pullman’s architecture from a new perspective, and discover the rich history of this community.
